Well done team and as many of you were ‘returners’ we hope to see you next spring.

A great sunny Litter Pick https://fbec.org.uk/2026/09/06/a-great-sunny-litter-pick/ https://fbec.org.uk/2026/09/06/a-great-sunny-litter-pick/#respond Sun, 06 Sep 2026 13:47:16 +0000 https://fbec.org.uk/?p=6356 Our thanks to the 13 volunteers who helped with today’s Litter Pick. Together we collected 18 bags of mainly wind blown litter.

It was noticeable that the squirrels and birds have created havoc in some areas as they desperately searched for water during the hot weather. It’s hard to know which flowers and ornaments belonged on each grave so our apologies for any misplaced items. If you have a grave in the cemetery can we suggest that you visit and check for any damage.

Weather Affects Grave Gardeners event 27th June. https://fbec.org.uk/2026/06/26/weather-affects-grave-gardeners-event-27th-june/ https://fbec.org.uk/2026/06/26/weather-affects-grave-gardeners-event-27th-june/#respond Fri, 26 Jun 2026 20:54:09 +0000 https://fbec.org.uk/?p=6340 This Saturday the 27th June is one of the scheduled dates for our Grave Gardeners to meet on site but, as everyone will be aware, there is a heatwave at the moment.

Many of the regulars have decided not to attend for health reasons and we think this is pretty sensible but representatives of FBEC will be on the main drive by the Lodge at 11am in case anyone does turn up. (We are aware that this is as much a social gathering as a work party!)

We have decided that we will make a decision with anyone that turns up as to whether we do a short gardening session or not. Who knows what the weather may bring tomorrow?
